National Sloppy Joe Day

Mar 18, 2020

If you love the other genders besides men, then you better do something about this awful sandwich.

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches Built the Patriarchy

It's July 1955, and General Motors just came out with their new line of American cuisine. Sloppy Joe starred on the menu, and it was a hit across the land. Men came home from work and expected their wives to make them and the kids a mean helping of sloppy joes. Thus the patriarchy was born. It continued on into the 1960s, but lucky for us, women started complaining and saying the sandwich was sexist. This birthed the Sloppy Jane. Unfortunately it did not catch on like Ms Pac-Man in 80s. Sloppy Jane always played second fiddle to king Joe. As the sloppy manwich reigned supreme, so did males.

A New Beginning; Sloppy Bentley In the Time of Gender Equality

It's been a new millennium for quite some time now, and America has had enough. No longer will women sit second to men, and hello, there are more than two genders (don't even bother counting, because you don't have enough fingers and toes for all the genders out here). In this new era of inclusitivity, the new name for Sloppy Joe will be Sloppy Bentley. The Institute For Renaming Sandwiches (IFRS) nominated the name change as a well to bring the classic sandwich up to the 21st century. Everyone was outrageous, but lucky for us, none of it was real. This entire story was a complete fabrication, but you are reading something on a comedy site. Remember that truth is relative, everyone has motives, and you should trust no one. Well you can trust us, since our motive is just to be silly and make you laugh (if this was a text, we'd use a smiley face emoji here).
