Jelly Beans Have a Troubled Past
Not always synonymous with high society, the jelly bean started out on the streets. It was the first candy in America to be sold by weight instead of by piece. That's because drug dealers were moving large quantities for this sweet treat. Young teens couldn't get enough of this stuff, and that problem still prevails today. That's why in most candy stores, you need to show ID to purchase jelly beans.
The Jelly Bean Epidemic
Jelly beans have ravaged communities, with their sweet flavor and great taste. But those things are a distant memory to the jelly bean addict. Consumption via the mouth is replaced with snorting crushed up jelly beans. The final level is freebasing jelly beans, an activity that doesn't last long; humans can really only take a freebase hit of jelly beans once, and then they die. Most municipalities replaced their D.A.R.E. program with J.A.B.R.O.N.E.E (Jelly And Bean Resistance On Neighborhoods Everywhere Entertainment -- originally the foundation thought they could dj weddings on the side, but now they just still to jelly bean freebase prevention).
