The Act Not The Substance
We're back at it again with this type of food holiday: celebrating the act of eating something versus the thing itself. The Food Holiday Calendar doesn't even have a day for bagels, which means the Food Holiday Creator values the act over the substance. Interesting how when it comes to bagels, actions speak louder than gluten. Maybe it's because the bagel is empty in the middle. Maybe it's because the Food Holiday Creator works in mysterious ways. It could also be that we're stalling and waiting to write enough characters to make it to another paragraph.
Do You Have Good Parents?
If you ate a bagel today, congratulations. You have good parents. If you already knew today was National "Have a Bagel" Day, watch out now, you have great parents. For all the other sorry suckers out there, I hate to break it to you: bad parents don't teach proper bagel values. Kids need to understand the importance of the bagel at an early age. Without it, children can grow up lost and confused. Most kids that end up on drugs had a defiant amount of time with bagels as a youth. It's a shame, but luckily there is a charity; Bagels For Teens is a nonprofit that puts bagels in the hands of at-risk adolescents. You can prevent the unthinkable before it happens, but ensuring teenagers develop a sweet bagel habit.
